Small Town in a wide world: regional Qld songwriter heads to India
Songwriter Josh Arnold - aka Small Town Culture - works with communities across regional Queensland, guiding creative efforts that lead to everything from school songs to town anthems to celebrations of Indigenous culture.
Now, his work with CQUniversity has taken him a long way from his usual stamping grounds.
Josh reports from Delhi, where he worked with children and young people from the Salaam Baalak Trust, which supports children living and working on the streets.
“When I think where these kids have come from, and how some of them lived, to where some of them are now, I am moved and inspired,” Josh says.
“They have been through so much, but they are so happy, so full of positivity and hope for the future.”
